Funerals

Ministry at Death

When someone is approaching death, the family may wish the Vicar to come and pray for the dying person. This may be done in private or with the family present. This can be a very special time for the family, where there is an opportunity to say goodbye and to thank God for their relative's life.

If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact the Revd Louise Ellis on 01202 708567 or email vicar.lilliput@gmail.com

Funerals

If you wish to have a Christian funeral conducted in church, the normal practise is to book this with us through a local Funeral Director. The Service in Church is usually then followed by a short service of Committal at the Crematorium or, in the case of burials, at the graveside. A standard fee will be payable to the church for this service and will be administered by the Funeral Director.

You may, however, choose to have the funeral at the Crematorium. The Vicar can be booked to conduct this service through the Funeral Director. A standard fee will be payable to the church for this service and will be administered by the Funeral Director.

The Vicar will normally meet with the next of kin at their home or the home of the deceased, together with any other members of the family who would like to be there, to discuss details of the ceremony.
