Baptism/Christenings

We welcome all enquiries relating to Baptism.

Infant Baptisms

If you are considering bringing your child up in the Christian faith, you may wish to have your child baptised (also referred to as ‘Christened’). Baptism marks the start of a journey of faith, which involves turning away from all that is evil, turning towards Christ and becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family.

Baptisms usually take place during a service at 12.15pm on a Sunday. If you wish to enquire about Baptism for your child, please call or email the Vicar. You will be asked to attend a Baptism Preparation Session on a Saturday morning. We also ask that you attend at least one Sunday morning service before the baptism and of course hope that you will want to continue to be involved in the life of Holy Angels.

Adult Baptisms usually take place within a Confirmation Service. Speak to the Vicar to find out more.

Please note that there is no fee payable for a baptim You may wish to make a voluntary donation towards the mission of the church, although there is no obligation to do so.

Thanksgiving for the birth of a child

We also offer Thanksgiving services. This is where the child is officially ‘named’ and you seek God’s blessing on him/her. This is sometimes referred to as a ‘Dedication’ or a ‘Blessing’. It is especially for those who are not yet ready to make the undertakings of faith required for a Baptism or for those who are Christians but feel that the child should decide for himself when to be baptised..

If you wish to enquire about a Thanksgiving for your child, please contact the Vicar.

Please note that there is no fee payable for this service. You may wish to make a voluntary donation towards the mission of the church, although there is no obligation to do so.
